March 2015 Member of the Month

Steve Robbins

      Whenever you walk into a new gym, the first thing you do is check out your fellow gym-goers. At the Sports Club of Novi there is one man you can’t look past and that is Steve Robbins, our March Member of the Month. Not only does he put some 20-year olds to shame but, he can always be seen showing another member how to do a certain exercise or encouraging another to push through that last set.

Steve has been a member of the Sports Club for 15 years, initially joining because of a friend’s suggestion. The thing that has kept him coming back is the overall atmosphere of the Sports Club and the many great friendships he has developed with, not only the staff, but the members as well.

On any given day, it is a guarantee that you will run into Steve, whether he is with his workout buddies or his just as dedicated wife and daughter. His motivation is his perspective on fitness. He views it as a lifestyle, and he truly lives it. Not only does he show up everyday but, he continues to challenge himself to get stronger and better.

Since joining the gym, Steve has noticed the biggest change in his circle of friends. Instead of having friends from varied lifestyles majority are now fitness orientated. Being a part of a fitness community has motivated Steve to keep working hard and show for it today being 50lbs. of muscle heavier than day one.

In the words of Mr. Robbins,"Lift Heavy. Low Reps. Train Hard. Train Often.”

 

Big "thank you” to Steve for being our first Member of the Month and continuing to be a Proud Member of the Sports Club of Novi. Here at the Sports Club we want to encourage a feel-good and motivating community. By getting to know one another and expanding our fitness community, we can come closer to achieving our own personal fitness goals.
